4. Wilberforce Robert Russia merchant, of Hull-11333 (William , Samuel , Progenitor 2013 ) was born in 1728. He died in 1768.

He is yr son. He is a partner of Abel Smith and Wilberforce and Smith. Pollock, table. Pemberton, London Connection, p. 389.

Robert married Bird Elizabeth Of Barton, Warwickshire-11332 daughter of Of Barton Bird Thomas-11321 and Bird Elizabeth-42251 in 1728/1729. Elizabeth died in 1798.

She is of London on Pollock, p. 5. Pollock, table. Pemberton, AACo, p. 389.

Robert and Elizabeth had the following children:

  8 F ii Clapham sect, wife2 Wilberforce Sarah Clark Sally-38094 was born in 1758. She died in 1816.

        Sarah married (1) anti-slaver, Master Chancery, MP, Clapham Sect Stephen James-38088 son of Supercargo of Aberdeen Stephen James-38090 and Of Dorsetshire Milner Sibella-38091. James was born in 1758. He died in 1832.

He is a Wilberforcian, a lawyer. He has legal business in Barbados from 1781 re regulation of trade with WI and US. He is part-educated in Aberdeenshire. He is Scottish in background see all DNB entries on Stephen. Annan p. 9 says this man partly responsible for Brit-US war of 1812, as he devised the "famous Orders in Council of 1807", which were aimed at stopping the evasion of ships flying neutral flags, of Brit restrictions and this more than impressment of US sailors brought US into a war. Prime Minister Perceval is a friend of this man, and when assassinated, dies in Stephens' arms. He and a brother inherit money from an uncle in the West Indies.
