He in Burke's LG for Scott is of Usan, HEICS Judge and Magistrate, Rangpore, 1813, Commr Assam and Sheerpore, 1829, He may have a son Charles Scott 1814-1847). This Benjamin Jervis may have been a first cousin of Admiral Jervis (?).

All her children seem to have been born in India. One view is that she is cousin of husband.

Anne married Colonel Watson Archibald-110031 son of The Younger Watson James-142136 and Scott Anne-193137 in 1821. Archibald was born in 1779 in Rhynd, Perthshire. He died in 1855 in Abbethune, Forfarshire.

Well that is interesting. Certainly I could see no mention of a marriage for David Scott 1786-1831 in the book but I am afraid I am only quoting what I read in the British Library. I was surprised that no marriage was mentioned but then that does not mean he did not have offspring as you know. If I get a chance I will try to pursue Charles Scott further but I do not live in London so do not have access to the books very often. As for your Archibald Watson and Sarah McCulloch that must be a line of enquiry you would like to sort out. I presume you have searched the appropriate films of Bengal marriages ? Certainly I will keep a look out for her too. Tell me what you have searched and I will see if I can think of anything else. I hope you do not mind but I am copying this to Dan Byrnes who is also interested in the Scott family.

One small point, must be a typo in your first para below, it was Archibald WATSON who married David SCOTT of NE India's sister Anne on 30 July 1821 in Scotland while on leave ..... I have a reference [HODSON Vol 4, p30], taken down by me some time ago which indicates a 'Charles SCOTT (1814-47), was the son of David SCOTT (Archibald WATSON's brother-in-law) who was a judge and magistrate in the Bengal Civil Service. He (Charles) rose to the rank of Captain in the Bengal Army and died in Dacca, aged 33.' Does this mean that David SCOTT of NE India may have in fact married? There are a number of 'David SCOTTs' so it is very hard to keep track of them! A point of interest is that Archibald WATSON had six children all of whom were born in India. The eldest four were baptised either in Muttra or Calcutta before he married his cousin Anne SCOTT in Scotland in 1821. However, there is no record of Anne SCOTT ever going to India! My great grandfather Sydney Grandison WATSON was the third of the six children (b. 22 July 1816, died 11 December 1891 at Walwa, Australia; m.(i) Isabella ROBINSON and m.(ii) Constance Maria ARMSTRONG). The other children were Louisa Jessie (b. 30 September 1812, died 1900; m.(i) Lieut.
