He is son2. thepeerage.com. Is he the James Scarlet named in will of Deborah Woodstock qv? His father is of Duckett's Spring, St James, Jamaica, Burke's P&B for Ridley. Notes from DR Arathoon of 11 August 2006, indicate there are branches of this Scarlett family in Australia, and that there were earlier, branches in Sussex or Lancashire and also in Ireland, those in Ireland went back to Lancashire and then finally to Australia. James Scarlett the barrister came from a Jamaica branch of Scarlett. He becomes guardian of Edward Moulton who later took his own mother's name of Barrett and became the father of Elizabeth Barret qv.
James married (1) wife1 Campbell Louise Henrietta-209180 daughter of Of Fish River Jamaica Campbell Peter II-2854 and Campbell Mary-32942 on 22 Aug 1792. Louise died on 8 Mar 1829.
She is so named in the Will of her brother Peter III. Murray Waldren info is that she marries James Scarlett of the Barons Abinger qv, which does not compute - but has children Robert Campbell Scarlett and Mary Elizabeth Scarlett. Louise or Louisa Henrietta Campbell. She is noted in her father's Will in Update per Peter Dickson of 10-4-2008. She is dr3. She may be Sonia Henrietta per Arathoon.
