He helped found the British and Foreign Bible Society (as a lot of US websites say), but a http says the Clapham Sect/Lord Teignmouth founded BFBS in 1804. There was an American Bible Society founded in 1816 on which a wikipedia page says . Sir Wm Pepperell Bart suggested his name be changed to Pepperell and he drop the name Sparhawk, which he did, so his children were named either Pepperell or Sparhawk.
