His own obituary in SMH 7 September 2002. He had two drs and one son, Alexander the heir. He was a botanical artist and art critic. Descended from friend of Queen Victoria and PM, "Lord Aberdeen", held to be responsible for the Crimean War.

Alastair married Ceramic sculptor Barry Anne-314393 daughter of Barry Progenitor-314394 and BNotknown Miss-314395 in 1950.
