ux49 Code-Aust. Not in Hodson list. He also has sons William and James and Edward, with Edwd in HEIC service. His ship was attacked by French ship, Clarisse, and survived. Per an ADB entry. He appears to have a relative, Buchanan as his son John qv has an uncle William Buchanan RN. he had saved a ship and so was given preferment for three of his sons in Navy.

Captain married Speculative Buchanan Miss-38302 daughter of Buchanan Senior-40365 and BNotknown Miss-15022.
