87. Merchant Douglas IOM Bacon John Joseph I-290293 (Elizabeth Christian , James , Edward ) was born in 1728. He died in 1809. He was buried in Conchan IOM.
He and wife had five sons and six drs. He is an only son. From A. W. Moore, Manx Families, 1889. Per emailer Chris Pickard. Probably says Pickard, the greatest Manx ship-owner, owned or part-owned 26 ships in his lifetime, some of them being Liverpool slavers. Had a herring curing house, exported red herrings to West Indies and Medit.
John married Johnstone Jane-81668 daughter of Johnstone William-290292 and JNotknown Miss-290295. Jane was born in 1737. She died in 1781. She was buried in Conchan IOM.
