13. Baron3 Baltimore, Gov Maryland Calvert Charles-3747 (Cecilius , George , Leonard , John , Progenitor ) was born on 27 Aug 1637. He died on 21 Feb 1714/1715.

Jordan in Tate and Ammerman, p. 260, essay Emergence of a Native Elite, p. 260, as early as 1671, Charles Calvert had found it necessary to establish representation at St Mary's City. see The Calvert Papers, Number One, Maryland Hist Soc, Fund Publication No 28, Baltimore 1889, pp. 265-166. it seems this Calvert is the proprietor. Sent as deputy to govern Maryland by his father in 1661, he ruled arbitrarily, a Catholic vs Protestant time, restricted suffrage, filled offices with yes-men, Protestants overthrew his charter in 1689, in 1692 a royal govt established in Maryland.
Charles married (1) wife1 Darnall Mary-3748 daughter of Of Loughton, Herefordshire Darnall Ralph-47181 and DNotknown Miss-47182 in 1660 in Circa. Mary died in 1667 in Ante. She was buried in Maryland,America.
