This series of files will (where possible) present five-seven generational presentations on the descendancies of Lords Mayor of London, or, perhaps, their fathers. | It has to be said at the outset that from about 1550, where this research begins, the genealogies of many Lords Mayor are simply unavailable on the Internet, so if we tried to present any series, such a series will be gapped. |
This said, our curiosity here is to discover how often Lord Mayors (LM) arrived to office as members of mini-dynasties, or family networks, which had notable roles in both commercial activity and London´s aldermanic politics. (So it will not necessarily count if a Lord Mayor´s family members had links to knights of the realm, Baronets, aristocracy or to men involved in government and a higher level of politics. Our concern is firstly with commerce/London politics) | Our case here regards LM Henry Keble (Kevell). |

Sir John Milborne Lord Mayor for 1521-1522 (died 1536) was son of John Milborne. He seems to have had no children. Sir John had two wives, Lady Margaret (little known) and Joan Hill and was buried with both of them. Joan Hill had three husbands. (1) London mercer Richard Welles died 1505. (2) London draper John Chester died 1513. (3) Milborne. Her son Sir William Chester (a draper and a London alderman 1564-1565) became ancestor of a lineage. Sir William Chester had a first wife, Elizabeth Turner daughter of John Turner, the widow of London Alderman William Beswick(e). Chester´s second wife was Elizabeth Lovett, daughter of Thomas Lovett of Astwell, who had five sons and four daughters.

Our concern is firstly with commerce/London politics) | Our case here regards LM Sir Thomas Baldry. |
