Jeremiah Wadsworth (1743-1804) gapsbuel Contractor. He has an Am Rev agent, Peter Colt. He sailed first on ships owned by an uncle. He became a government offical supplying the Continental Army. After the war, he dealt in banking, insurance and cattle-breeding. He is a co-founder of Bank of North American in PA, and of Hartford Bank, a director of United States Bank. Wadsworth entertained Washington in 1775 as Washington rode to take command of the Continental Army at Cambrdge. Re his son Daniel, who was possibly the wealthiest man of Connecticut in his own day.
Jeremiah married Russell Mehitable-433912 daughter of Rev Russell William-346250 and Pierpont Mary-434393. Mehitable died in 1817.
