He was the stepson of Francis Rotch. Francis Rotch, of the New Beford Rotch whaling family, is mentioned many times in your Merchant News. It is believed he married a woman named Deborah while in England (from Bullard's book) who would be the mother of our Mr. Fleeming-----more than that, we do not know. Francis Rotch was in Milford Haven, Dunkirk and Calais. Should you come across his name, any information on the marriage of Francis and "Deborah", or have any suggestions for a place to begin my search in England or France I would be deeply grateful.
