He was the stepson of Francis Rotch. Francis Rotch, of the New Beford Rotch whaling family, is mentioned many times in your Merchant News. It is believed he married a woman named Deborah while in England (from Bullard's book) who would be the mother of our Mr. Fleeming-----more than that, we do not know. Francis Rotch was in Milford Haven, Dunkirk and Calais.
