3. Sir, London Lord Mayor, Levant trader Osborne Edward-4956 (Richard , Progenitor ) was born in 1530 in Circa. He was christened in 1577. He died in 1592.

Gov1 of Levant Co in AC Wood, appendix IV. His dr Alice in GEC, Peerage, List of Regicides, Appendix G. p. 613. He is a clothworker becoming a financier and merchant. He traded with Spain and Portugal, and also the Levant. He re-exported cloth to the Baltic. In 1575 he and Richard Staper sent agents to Turkey to do work before signing a treaty So he became gov of Levant co. In 1583 he sent Fitch to the East. He is of St Dionis Backchurch, London. He and Richard Staper helped to finance the travels of Fitch qv. Hasler on this man, pp. 156ff. He was apprenticed to Lord Mayor of London in 159?, Sir William Hewett. See also DNB. Edward married (1) wife1 Hewett Anne-12465 daughter of Sir Lord Mayor London Hewett William-21836 and Leveson Elizabeth-21835. Anne was born in 1543.
