Ann Sadler e-mailer of Feb 2006 feels his father is William Mangles Master and Mariner of New Brentford, and who had property in Northumberland, who had sons Timothy and Robert (maybe boys of Wiiliam Mangles and Susannah of Durham). He had two sons, John and James. He went from Newcastle-upon-Tyne about 1750 to London and set up as a ships chandler. Per Ian Berryman in WA in March 1996.
