3. Dep-Commissary NSW Laidley James-113237 (John , Progenitor ) was born in 1786 in Perthshire, Scotland. He died in 1835.

Per e-mail from Australian Peter Dowling on 15-6-2009. When he died he left eight children, says ADB entry. His own entry in ADB online version. Mowle's Genealogy for Dowling. He had a wife and seven children when he died in Barnard's book, p. xv. He had been with Commissary dept. on Barbados and later on Mauritius.

James married Of Barbados Shepheard Eliza Jane-27644 daughter of Of Barbados Shepheard Progenitor-311995 and SNotknown Miss-311996 in 1819.
