70. Musgrave Roy-51979 (Daisy Robertson , Elizabeth Jane Fowke , Edward , Charles Hubert , Francis , Joseph , Randall , Edward , Thomas , Progenitor 2011 ) was born on 20 Jan 1914 in Summer Hill NSW. He died on 24 Mar 2006 in Long Jetty Erina NSW.
There is some association with surname Duckworth in his family or with his parents. Roy Musgrave, a keen fisherman all his life, died of basically, renal kidney failure, aged 92, having been healthy and still living at home, alone, and still driving, till Christmas 2005, when he began to fail. Cremated 28 March 2006 at Pose Chapel, Palmdale Crematorium, Ourimbah, NSW. His sons Leslie and Steve from his house filled two skips to 12 cubic metres of material, not including clothes and major items of furniture. On Musgraves on the net, there are Musgraves of Ireland who went to Canada and intermarried with Crofton of Brandon, Manitoba. There is a Musgrave genforum at genforum. genealogy.com/musgrave. In the USA is a Jasper Newton Musgrave. The name Musgrave in England seems based mostly in Yorkshire, including at Richmond, Yorks. There were Musgraves of London, and of Devon England. Musgrave in the 1400s were in Northumberland, England. There is a Thomas Musgrave in Victoria Australia in 1850 or so. There was apparently a Musgrave a governor of jail in Limerick in 1900s. In the 1798 rebellion in Ireland, Capt Musgrave led the 20-man Lismore Blues Cavalry of County Waterford. It has been said but never quite confirmed that Roy's mother committed suicide, which he never spoke about.
Roy married Smith Phyllis-52015 daughter of Smith Thomas Oahlin-51960 and Seamstress Windle Elizabeth Emily-51896 in Sydney. Phyllis was born in Watsons Bay,Sydney. She died on 7 Nov 2000 in Nursing Home.
Born at Mill Hill Road, Waverly. Phyllis died at 7am in a nursing home on 7-11-2000 (Melbourne Cup day as it happened, after suffering some years from Alzheimer's Disease and with some complications [as with her sister Sarah] from diabetes). Her nephew Doug Smith recently before her death said he was pleased he had seen her, she recognised him and squeezed his hand, and had a twinkle in her eye. Phyllis was a talented artist working mostly with landscape and abstracts. See Larkin tree on her genealogy.
