3. Du Pont Pierre Samuel-281627 (Samuel , Progenitor ) was born in 1739. He died in 1817.

He is said to add de Nemours to his name. Code-US. Due to politics and their royalism, the family emigrates to US in 1800. He promotes the treaty which enables the Louisiana Purchase. He becomes friends with Jefferson when Jefferson is in Paris. He is a French Royalist favouring a constitutional monarchy and is inspector general of commerce under Louis XVI. He is regarded as a liberal economist, author and editor. He is said to know Madame Germaine de Stael, dr of Jacques Necker. He has an uncle, watchmaker, Pierre de Monchantin. His mother dies when he is 16. The Co gets its saltpetre from Thomas Davy and Josiah Roberts of London eg., in 1808. He is said at age 23 to have produced works on finance which impressed de Quesnay of the French Physiocrats. It is said that Alexander Hamilton is this man's lawyer. He had about 705 direct descendants.

Pierre married Le De Made Sophie-281628 daughter of Le Dee Progenitor-281668 and LNotknown MIss-281669.

+ 5 M ii Aide de Camp to Lafeyette Du Pont Victor Marie-281670 was born in 1767. He died in 1827.
  6 M iii Died young Du Pont Paul Francois-428253 was born in 1769. He died in 1770.
