3. Clothseller of Exeter Baring John I-20678 (Franz , Progenitor ) was born on 31 Jan 1697. He died in 1748 in Circa,Exeter.
He is one of a few locals to use a carriage. Serge goes to North Germany, hamburg, and from Gemrany they got linens going to Newfoundland, West Indies, Spain, Portugal, the Medit. He is a posthumous child see Hidy p. 5. He comes to Devon in 1717. He is from Bremen in North Germany in Hidy on Baring am trade, p. 4. He was sent to Exeter to be apprenticed to Brothers eg Edmund Cock a serge maker, qv, a firm manufacturing cloth called Long Ells. See Ziegler on Barings.
John married Merchant Vowler Elizabeth-20679 daughter of Grocer, a fortune Vowler John-1652 and VNotknown Miss-1651 in Exeter,probably. Elizabeth was born in Exeter. She died in 1766.
When her husband dies she forms a short partnership with local men. She is a grocer's dr, Hidy, on Baring, pp. 5-8. From various Barings DNB entries.
John and Elizabeth had the following children:
+ 4 M i Banker mechant Baring John Francis-1649 was born in 1730. He died on 29 Jan 1816. 5 M ii Baring Thomas Vowler-4501 was born in 1733. He died in 1758.
Noted only in HIdy on Baring am trade, p. 6.Thomas married Parker Elizabeth-165631 daughter of Of Blagdon Parker Francis-165632 and PNotknown Miss-165633 on 24 Aug 1758.

She died on 23 Feb 1809.
